The city of Montreal announced it’s aiming to shrink its workforce by 250 positions this year, mainly by eliminating management roles and merging departments. The city said it will be cutting assistant director general and senior management positions to realign with the new administration’s priorities and stressed that direct services to residents won’t be affected.
