Recipe 1. In a pressure cooker, take 1 cup of soaked tuvar dal (arhar dal). 2. Add 1 cup of water, a small piece of ginger, salt to taste, and 1 tsp of turmeric powder. 3. In a small container, take 1 tbsp of raw peanuts, add 2 tbsp of water, and place this container inside the pressure cooker. 4. Cover the pressure cooker and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 whistles. 5. Once done, open the cooker, carefully remove the small container of peanuts, and keep it aside. 6. Beat the dal until it reaches a smooth consistency. 7. Add 2 more cups of water into the dal, along with 1 medium-sized tomato (cut into small pieces) and the boiled peanuts you set aside. Then adjust the salt, add 1.5 tbsp of jaggery, and 2-3 tbsp of tamarind pulp (soak a small piece of tamarind in hot water for half an hour, squeeze, and take out the pulp). 8. For the Tadka, take 2 tbsp of peanut oil (or your choice of oil) in a pan. 9. Once the oil is hot, add 3 cloves, 1/2 tsp of whole fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp of mustard seeds, and 1 tsp of cumin seeds. 10. Once everything crackles, add 1/2 tsp of asafoetida, a few curry leaves, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of coriander powder, 2 tsp of Kashmiri mirchi powder, and 1-2 whole dried red chillies. 11. Mix the tadka well and pour it directly into the dal. 12. Mix everything together and let the dal boil on a medium flame for 3 to 4 boils. 13. Finally, add 1 to 2 finely chopped dried dates (chuara) and some fresh coriander. 14.
