Description

What’s up and what’s down with the facelifted Tata Punch EV? ⬆️ First up, battery capacity has grown. The earlier 25kWh and 35kWh packs make way for larger 30kWh and 40kWh units. Thanks to a switch from cylindrical to prismatic cells, Tata can now pack more cells into the same space. ⬆️ Power is up too. The bigger battery now makes 129hp (up from 122hp), while the smaller one produces 88hp (up from 81hp). ⬇️ What’s gone down is complexity. Components like the e-motor, reduction gear, DC-DC converter and onboard charger are now integrated into a 6-in-1 drive unit. This results in better efficiency, fewer parts, and lower manufacturing costs. ⬇️ And these saving have been passed on. Prices now start at Rs 9.69 lakh — Rs 30,000 less than before — and go up to Rs 12.59 lakh, which is a Rs 1.85 lakh drop at the top end. What do you think of the new Punch EV? Let us know in the comments.
