Description
This week, I'm have some well earned 'playtime' at the wheel. That means throwing a variety of one-off bowl forms and trimming some crisp, tall-footed vessels, simply for my own enjoyment. I've spent so much time over the past year focusing on new bowl forms that have more intricate external shapes, yet I think there's still some room for experimentation when it comes to the internal forms.
I've always liked throwing steps and ridges on the outer portion of the pots I make but I reckon there's space to do that on the inside too, even if it detracts from the objects functionality, these bowls, and many I make, are way beyond that.
Thus, in this weekend's long video I'm throwing and trimming a batch of six stoneware bowls, each made from 2 lb of clay, (around 907 grams), and thrown on a wonderful Russian doll batt system produced by Hartley & Noble, you can find a link to their fantastic batt systems here: https://hartleyandnoble.co.uk
I hope you found the video useful and thanks for watching. It's a bit of a rambling video, sometimes I just feel the need to speak my mind and avoid the minutiae of what's actually happening on the wheel.
