Sup Big Dawgs. What’s your experience with CIF? Here’s mine. I came back from Afghanistan and realized someone from another platoon had stolen the side SAPI plates out of my flak. So when it came time to turn in my gear, I already knew I was walking into a problem. I went in anyway and started the process. Everything was going fine... too fine... until halfway through, the power went out. Lights off, systems down, whole place stalled. They told me, “Bring the rest back tomorrow.” So I did. Next day, I come back, pick up where I left off, and that’s when it hits. “Alright… where are your side SAPIs?” And I just went for it. “I turned those in yesterday. Right when the power went off. Maybe they didn’t get checked in.” They waved me through. Got away with it. Which is exactly why this episode of Now Serving hits so hard.
