Six Days on the Land | Winter Camping and Ice Fishing by Snowmobile in Northern Ontario Join me and my brother Ted (YouTube @TheRealTedBaird) as we head out from the cabin for a 6-day mission into the remote backcountry of Northern Ontario' Algoma District. Using snowmobiles to access lakes far off the beaten path, we set up our canvas wall tent and wood stove to establish a basecamp in the deep bush. Our goal for this trip was to explore the uncharted waters north of the cabin in search of lake trout. From processing firewood in the evening light to navigating through deep powder and slush on the sleds, this trip was a true test of our winter camping systems. We faced the typical challenges of the "Bush Life"—keeping the stove fed, managing gear in the cold, and of course, trying to find where the fish are holding.
