Josh Gardner from Specialised Racing Solutions explains how GT3 regulations control power, weight, tyre size, and aerodynamics to level the playing field, and why those same rules become limitations when outright lap time is the goal in the Emtron Pro Class. From a custom twin turbo system mounted close to the V10 for improved thermal control and response, through to torque management using a MoTeC M150 ECU, this car pushes well beyond its original design brief.
He also dives into the electronics architecture, including CAN gateway strategy using the MoTeC dash, integration of Bosch and Continental systems, retained GT ABS, and an OBR power distribution module. The discussion covers why port injection is retained instead of direct injection, how drivetrain reliability is addressed with a Hollinger gearbox, and the real challenges of cooling and durability when looking to go from 950hp to 1400 horsepower on a circuit which is generally more punishing than some other applications, including drag racing.
