The Spanish Army M48 Main Battle Tank

This exhibit was lovingly restored by our buen amigo David from Asociacion de recreacion historica Spearhead! Today Jason takes us through one of the Cold War workhorses in the collection — a Spanish-operated M48A5 Patton. Originally an American design, the M48 served with the Spanish Army for decades and received extensive upgrades under the RISE and Product Improvement Program (PIP). Jason walks us through the vehicle’s unit markings, naming conventions, armour, suspension, engine, fire control systems, and crew layout. A relaxed but detailed look at a fascinating post-war tank, filmed at the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum.
