Description

A handsome Spotted-tailed Quoll (Dasyurus maculatus) wanders into the campsite one evening in northern New South Wales, Australia. This bold individual was obviously looking for a snack (we didn't feed it) as it had no doubt learned that campsites = tasty scraps of meat for the taking! This species is also known as the Tiger Quoll. The Spotted-tailed Quoll population on mainland Australia is seriously threatened due to habitat descrtiction and the introduction of feral animals. They are the largest marsupial carnivore on mainland Australia and related to the Tasmanian Devil & Thylacine. Examples of Australian wildlife sounds and bird calls can be found on my website https://wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/ All of the sounds featured on this channel were recorded on location by Wild Ambience.
