That's the question at the centre of Fish Balls. Change and transformation run through every layer of this film. It's there in the Fish Man, but it's also embedded in how we chose to tell it - shifting aspect ratios, an evolving visual language, and a full genre turn by the final act. The form follows the character: as he transforms, so does the question of whether that transformation is even possible.
