Christian Bale on The Bride Premiere & Working with Maggie Gyllenhaal #TheBride

At the world premiere of The Bride, Christian Bale shared his thoughts on finally seeing the film come to life. "Oh, it's always good," he said. "You like to see what other people think about it… after you’ve spent all this time making it." He praised Maggie, noting, "She's done an incredible job. Everyone else. And now it's over to the audience. They own it. They get to tell us what it is." Speaking about his iconic character, he said, "Well, Frank is absolutely iconic. But, you know, the king of it is Karloff, right?" Reflecting on the challenge of bringing his own interpretation, he added, "And then you got Mary Shelley's… I tried to weave my way between them and create something individual and unique. I want more people to take from this." When asked about working with Maggie, he smiled, "She's fantastic. You know, she's obviously a brilliant actor and then brings that to directing as well.
