This is one of the strangest SpongeBob horror mods I’ve played. The mod is called Coral Reef Trick and it mixes several creepy SpongeBob themes together, but honestly the story is a bit confusing. It includes characters like SpongeBob.EXE, Frozen SpongeBob, and even a disturbing version involving Dead Squidward and Patrick. The whole thing feels like a collection of different SpongeBob creepypasta ideas combined into one mod. The story starts with Boyfriend and Girlfriend casually going shopping. Boyfriend notices a strange poster and picks it up. Suddenly the surroundings start to distort and both of them get pulled into another world. This world belongs to a mysterious entity called ASB. For some reason ASB hates Boyfriend and decides he should be erased from the multiverse. Now BF and GF have to escape before they become the final target. The songs have very different vibes. One feels like a SpongeBob.EXE horror encounter, another features a frozen SpongeBob theme, and there’s also a dead-air styled song that is intentionally loud and unsettling. One of the songs about SpongeBob’s regret and punishment reminded me a lot of Porifera Atoll AKA Lies. The mod feels weird and chaotic, but it’s still interesting to see how many horror SpongeBob ideas they tried to include.
