► Starmer soldiers on – but for how long? Keir Starmer is on the ropes, with four ministers quitting today as pressure grows for him to step aside – but, so far, no one has challenged his leadership. More than 80 MPs have now called for Sir Keir to go, but he’s told cabinet he won’t walk and will instead “get on with governing”. Eighty-one MPs need to support a single candidate to trigger a takeover, but that is reportedly some way off. Ministers Mitta Fahnbulleh, Jess Phillips, Alex Davies-Jones and Zubir Ahmed have resigned. Meanwhile, 100 backbenchers are understood to have signed a letter in support of Sir Keir.
