At the very top of the cassowary food pyramid is fruit, fruit and (you guessed it!) more fruit. Their love of fruit runs so deep that some rainforest species have even been named after them, including the Cassowary Plum and Cassowary Stink Ash. And when it comes to eating, cassowaries don’t bother chewing at all... lunch is swallowed whole!
