Today we honor Saint Honoratus of Amiens, a holy confessor and bishop from France whose faithful service to the Church left a lasting spiritual legacy. Saint Honoratus was a native of Pontia and became Bishop of Amiens around the year 660. His memory remained deeply revered throughout France for centuries. In 1204, a church was built in Paris in his honor by Reynold Sharons, who later established a religious foundation there. Over time, this collegiate church became well known and influential. Saint Honoratus is also remembered as the titular saint of a Carthusian monastery at Abbeville founded in 1306.
