One of the biggest sports scandals in Canadian history is being re-told in a different light. ‘Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story’ is a six-part mockumentary chronicling the rise and fall of former Canadian Olympic sprinter Ben Johnson. At the height of his career, Ben tested positive for steroids, he lost the ability to compete and had to give back the gold medal he just won at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.
