Chris Minns announces an extra public holiday for Anzac Day weekend

New South Wales residents will get an extra public holiday this year and next to compensate for Anzac Day falling on a weekend. Under a two-year trial endorsed by RSL New South Wales, an additional public holiday will be held on the Monday following Anzac Day. The plan will run alongside a broader review into whether the state should permanently adjust public holiday arrangements when April 25 falls on a weekend. Premier Chris Minns believes the move will not replace the national day, but reinforce its significance.
