Rice Krispies Party Squares

https://www.ricekrispies.ca/en/recipes/rice-krispies-party-squares Ingredients 50 ml or 1/4 cup margarine or butter 1.25 L or 5 cups miniature or 40 regular (250 g pkg) marshmallows 2 ml or 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional) 1.5 L or 6 cups Rice KrispiesⓇ cereal 1 cup pastel coloured milk chocolate candies + more for decorating Directions 1. Lightly grease a 9x13” baking pan. Line with parchment paper for easy removal. Set aside. 2. Place a large saucepan over low heat. Add the butter or margarine and heat until melted. Add the marshmallows, stir until melted and smooth before stirring in the vanilla extract if using. 3. Remove from the heat, add the Rice Krispies® cereal to the saucepan and stir until well coated. Allow to cool for 5-8 minutes and stir in 1 cup of milk chocolate candies. 4. Empty the saucepan into the prepared baking pan and press into the pan using a lightly buttered spatula. Top with additional milk chocolate candies and press lightly. Allow the pan to cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting into bars. Recipe notes If the portioned Rice Krispies® squares are hot when the candy is added they will melt a bit but it's still delicious! For extra gooey treats add an extra ½ cup of marshmallows.
