Date & Nut Slices! I didn't make this for Christmas, yet it tasted like Christmas! | Traditional Me

I created a tasty sweet by mixing ground dates with cashews, almonds, green pumpkin seeds, and small pistachio bites into date and nut slices. This Christmas treat was intended for Aunt Mery's daughter, who lives abroad, because it can be stored for a while without going bad. Since then, our mischievous brother has been giving daily compliments on its rich flavour, and I obviously knew his real reason. Because of some leftover ingredients I decided to make another batch of the date and nut slices for my brother. While I was preparing the date and nut slices, my brother made (Golden milk) turmeric milk to accompany the sweet treat. The turmeric milk had a refreshing and tantalising flavour, thanks to the mix of spices and turmeric. Its vibrant yellow colour, combined with its delicious taste, tingled all three senses and also pleased the mind. When my grandmother was at home, she usually didn't like drinking milk in the evening. Oh I forgot to mention that my grandmother visited her youngest brother in Wennappuwa, whom we call Chuti Seeya, meaning youngest grandfather. They are Catholics and usually celebrate Christmas, but this year, due to recent severe weather that affected many people, things are different. Tomorrow morning, after sharing the rest of the date and nut sweets, we'll visit my grandfather's house to join their Christmas celebrations.
