Adelaide Rally 2024 - WE RACED WITH CRAIG LOWNDES!

WE MET CRAIG LOWNDES WTF! AND THEN WE GOT A PHOTO OF HIM WITH THE SUPRA! I DID NOT EXPECT THAT! Well by now you've seen the teaser video which was the asmr video that I last posted, but this time it is the full Rally with multiple camera angles and also includes part of my drive to and from Sydney before and after the event! I think I came across the Adelaide Rally advertisements on Facebook and ended up deciding that it would be an awesome idea to do a super long road trip again just like the Uluru trip of 2023 but this time instead of bothering with any offroad shenanigans, I wanted to compete in a racing event of some sort on road! This just so happened to be Adelaide Rally, allowing road registered cars to play a part in racing through the Adelaide Hills. I chose to be a part of the Prima tour which only ran on the Friday and included 4 rally stages and then a lunch as I'd never done such an event and especially so far from home! The coolest part about this event honestly was meeting one of my inspirations, being Craig Lowndes! They say sometimes its best not to meet you Heroes but Craig and his wife were such good fun energy and we ended up talking a few times throughout the event. The rules of speed were unclear to me with random speed signs coming up and i stuffed up and forgot to get the front camera on so you just see the camera facing Maddie and I in what seems to be a confusing mess in the 1st stage. Combine that with cold tyres and we nearly went into a wall at a hairpin which another car went straight into only an hour prior. But natural instinct after so many motorkhanas had me pull the handbrake up to slide the back of the car into position, and carry on. The next session sees us stuck behind a white 180SX which I expected to be hard to keep up with but they must've had mechanical issues or no confidence because they were going too slow for my liking, and that of the 3 cars behind me, and we all agreed to send it to the back at our intermission break and the next two sessions went well! Only issue is that in the 3rd session, a GR Yaris stuffed up and rolled in the heat of battle causing huge delays to the start of SS3! But when we passed that, that is when the day got really fun and we got to stretch the Supras legs (albeit to 100km/h which is where the fun only starts to ramp up in that car...) The 4th stage shows the best of Maddies panic reactions throughout the day, but also the most acrtual fun where I finally smile and laugh and get some proper enjoyment from the day! Overall, including the rally, I did 2680kms, driving from Sydney to Adelaide, and returning, within 4 days. It would've been 3 days but a driver named Michael from the Zagame tour desperately needed a Navigator for Saturday, so I extended my trip by a day and spent it in the passenger seat of a BMW M3 X Drive Competition as we raced with his brother in the Yellow Supercharged Lamborghini Huracan Performante! However that is for another episode! Is there room for another Adelaide Rally Next year for me?
