Description

NEW ISLAMIC YEAR 1448 🌟 Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year and one of the four sacred months honoured by Allah. Within it lies the blessed day of ʿĀshūrāʾ — a day of immense reward and forgiveness. The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) said: “Fasting on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ expiates the sins of the preceding year.” (Sahih Muslim 1162) When the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) found the Jews fasting on this day in gratitude for Allah saving Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) and his people, he said: “We have more right to Mūsā than them.” And he encouraged the believers to fast it. To distinguish ourselves, the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) later said: “If I live until next year, I will fast the ninth day too.” (Sahih Muslim 1134) For this reason, many scholars recommend fasting: • 9th & 10th Muharram or • 10th & 11th Muharram The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) also said: “The most virtuous fasting after Ramadan is Allah’s month, Al-Muharram.” (Sahih Muslim 1163) As a new Islamic year begins, let us renew our repentance, increase in worship, and seize these blessed days before they pass. May Allah forgive our sins, accept our fasting, grant us steadfastness upon His religion, and make this new year a year of guidance, mercy, and barakah. #fyp #newyear #ashura #muharram
