Charlotte community mourns 19-year-old victim of torture, stabbing

Thomaz Hamilton is charged in her death. --- Police arrested a man in connection with a 19-year-old woman's death on Friday. Thomaz Hamilton, 24, is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape in the death of Isabella Mary Alexander Stroupe, 19, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Stroupe was found unresponsive at an apartment on Yateswood Drive around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, according to an incident report. Stroupe was pronounced dead at the scene.
