Despite what viewers saw on screen, David recently revealed that things were so bad behind the scenes that he wanted to leave the experiment. This came as a shock to viewers, who had seen the couple go from strength to strength each week, even sorting out plans on how to keep their relationship alive once the experiment ended. But speaking to Chattr, Alissa said, “There is a lot of context missing.” Alissa explained that she and David have had their ups and downs over the course of the 2026 season, and while they’ve worked through them, she said “cracks” started to show and this didn’t make the final cut. She added, “It won’t make sense to the viewers because there have been storylines missed, big key elements to our relationship. I’ve always been very open about how I’m feeling, and I feel like there could have been times where we could have had better conversations, or maybe he could have spoken up a little bit more, because I’m very open with my communication and what I need and what I want.
