Description
Three (or more?) Japanese raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes viverrinus, family Canidae) coming in and out of the burrow at the snow-covered fallow field. Sometimes they (maybe strangers) simply crossed the den site. There was heaviest snowfall during this winter. The Japanese raccoon dog had to wade through deep virgin snow, or walk across the frozen snow, for foraging trips. Captured with my new trailcam day and night from late-January to mid-February 2025 in Japan.
