The good thing about this half club trainer is that because they designed it as a wedge it can be used for chipping and even out of the bunker for practice . Now you’d think that when opening the face of a wedge, it would be quite difficult to strike the ball properly or even at all with only half a club and it is really daunting to look down at as well . However if you don’t think about it and almost just treat it as a normal club it is actually a lot easier than you’d think and even comes out with a lot of height and a bit of spin. The performance of the wedge is as good as id hope for even in a normal wedge just obviously doesn’t offer as much room for error if you did make a bad swing . I have a tendency of hitting the toe with all of my clubs so I thought id have a few with this that would shoot straight right if I hit the corner of the head especially while opening the face . After hitting 20-30 balls from this bunker I surprisingly didn’t miss hit any and I was pretty happy with most. Maybe it makes you sub consciously concentrate more or maybe having the extra section on the toe is a placebo and it is very rare that you’d hit that far out towards the toe . Either way I really like this as a training aid and is just something different to pull out at the range with your mates.
