Chess Genius : Magnus Carlsen

Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who has reached the highest rating in the history of chess and has held the number one spot in the FIDE world chess rankings since July 1, 2011. Recognized as a chess prodigy, Carlsen obtained the title of grandmaster at the age of 13. By the age of 19, Carlsen had become the number one ranked chess player in the world. He became the World Chess Champion in 2013 by defeating Viswanathan Anand and has successfully defended the title several times since. Although he adopted an aggressive style of play in his youth, he has evolved into a universal player over time, employing a variety of openings to make it difficult for opponents to prepare against him.
