My Thoughts on Issue #4 of the Murder Drones Comic

Did you know this in Murder Drones? A couple weeks ago the 4th chapter of the murder drones comic series released. Is it any good? Let me explain. So this chapter adapts episode 6 dead end from the show. We see Tessa and J again, and also meet new characters like Alice, Beau and the sentinels. Let’s start off with the things i liked. First up Alice and Tessa are amazing. Their dialogue and humor was adapted perfectly. In the show due to the dark lighting we didn’t really get a good look at Alice’s design, especially her hair colour. In the comics however we do, we can see her red hair with black streaks, it’s awesome. Her design is also a mix of her version from the episode, and her original concept art which is very cool. Like always the art in general is superb. The pages look beautiful and the creepy moments help to build tension. Unfortunately like with the rest of the series so far, there’s a bunch of problems. First up a bunch of fan favourite scenes are either removed or toned down. A good example is V and Tessa’s reaction to Uzi and N holding hands. V’s ew line is removed in the comic for no reason. Beau’s sacrifice for V is missing. Since so many scenes were cut out the characters essentially teleport around. And V’s whole epic fight with the sentinels is gone, she doesn’t even wear her glasses. In the show V has a great character arc, her sacrifice highlights her development and growth. But in the comic it makes no sense, 80% of her scenes are just cut out of the comic. If a reader didn’t watch the show first, they wouldn’t care about V at all, it would be like a random worker drone dying. They’ve ruined her character. So yeah like usual they were a couple steps forward, but then 10 steps back with this chapter. So what do you think? Have you read the comic yet? Let me know down below.
