The American Urological Association states that HoLEP and ThuLEP can be considered prostate-size independent options for LUTS/BPH. A systematic review and meta-analysis comparing HoLEP with TURP found that HoLEP may offer shorter catheterization time, shorter hospital stay, more tissue removal, lower blood transfusion risk, and good urinary outcomes.
