Eurasian Jay Perches on a Snow-capped Branch of Japanese Chestnut Tree in Mid Winter

A Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius, family Corvidae) was spotted on a thick side branch of a Japanese Chestnut (Castanea crenata, family Fagaceae) at the orchard in the snowy countryside. The bird flew away after a while. Captured in the sunny early-afternoon (around 13:10 PM) of early-January 2026 in Japan.
