He was locked in a carrier with no food, no water, and no escape. For days, he sat under the scorching Texas sun, his tiny body baking in the heat. By the time a passerby finally stopped, Aspen was barely clinging to life. Ants and maggots covered his skin, his body raw, bruised, and swollen. Too weak to even lift his head, he whimpered softly as our team carried him to safety. We brought Aspen straight to the clinic, where vets immediately began treatment. Aspen suffers from severe Demodex mange, leaving his skin infected, agonizingly cracked, and oozing with pus. His legs and belly are riddled with ant bites, his paws swollen from deep tissue inflammation.
