Internal shields are built into any Litter-Robot globe that was made before February of 2018. This feature is not necessary to the functionality or efficiency of these self-cleaning litter boxes and was removed from the Litter-Robot models after March of 2018. The shield is the main cause for the 3 lights flashing fault. Learn how to easily remove this component to keep your self-cleaning litter box working properly. 🕒 Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:23 Internal shield removal 00:57 Key and plug installation 2:20 Outro 🔧Tools needed for disassembly: A Phillips head screwdriver Litter-Robot 3 key and plug kit 💡Key things to know for removing the internal shield: Your plug kit comes with a plug in each color, choose whichever you like best When installing the plug and replacement key, note that the new key does not have a spring If your Litter-Robot was made after March of 2018, it will not have the shield If the bonnet or key are not installed correctly, the Litter-Robot may not cycle properly Watch our channel’s tutorials or contact us for any other self-cleaning litter box troubles ⚙️Dissembling Litter-Robot Press the power button to turn off Litter-Robot Unplug Litter-Robot from the wall Remove the bonnet by pressing the latches on both sides and rotating it backwards Remove the screw from the center of the black key on the back of the globe Once the key is removed, you can pull the shield out from the entrance of the globe. The shield and key can be disposed of. ⚙️Installing the key and plug kit Ensure the key insert is set into the key and the globe is in its home position Insert the plug into the hole at the back of the globe. You'll want to hold this plug in place while you insert the screw, through the key, from the other side.
