Description

Take a look into the micro treaty dialogue that took place in Coffs Harbour, where members of community and staff from UNSW gathered to share their voices, expertise and knowledge, and discuss how community would like to see themselves positioned into the future. “A micro-treaty means the communities will have an authentic voice in outlining what the commitments will be. And through a process of negotiation they will define their relationship with UNSW.” The micro-treaty Dialogues will be led by a Representative Council comprising of Indigenous undergraduate and postgraduate students, professional staff and academic staff, along with alumni and members of UNSW-connected Aboriginal communities across NSW. Initial discussions have commenced with communities from Kensington (Bidjigal), Paddington, Sydney (Gadigal), Canberra (Ngunnawal, Ngambri), Albury, Wagga Wagga, Griffith (Wiradjuri), Port Macquarie (Biripai), Coffs Harbour (Gumbaynggirr), Fowler’s Gap (Wilyakali), and Walgett (Gamilaraay, Yuwaalaraay, Ngayiimbaa). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We're the official channel for the wonderful community members of UNSW Sydney, a brilliantly located university between the coast and the city. UNSW Sydney is one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities. We're a welcoming community, promoting lasting knowledge and creating an academic environment where outstanding students and scholars from around the world can be inspired to excel in their programs of study and research.
