Royal Albatross ~ Plateau Chick weighs A Hefty 11kg!! Watch Him Make Major Nest Renovations ♥ 6.9.26

Plateau chick is 138 days old today and weighs 11kg (24.25 lbs!!) Plateau chick is one of three of the heaviest chicks in the colony this week! That is great to see & WYL & BOK are doing a great job raising their chick. The current weights this week range from 6kg to 11kg and the lightest two chicks due receive regular supplementary feedings. Plateau chick was very busy with his gardening and nest renovations! He worked meticulously for quite some time fixing & building his nest. Also, in the opening clip, you will see the neighbor chick start to do wing exercises. This is the North Plateau nest with LWK & YA65. They are raising a foster chick this season as their egg had a dead embryo. This reminded me of the year with Tiaki and SStrig both simultaneously flapping their wings back in 2021.
