It’s the start of something big (and a bit muddy!) 💪 Welcome back to Back To The Good Life! In this video, we’re finally tackling the back garden of our ex-council house and turning it into the beginnings of a small-space, self-sufficient mini homestead — on a very tight budget. Over the last two days, we’ve: 🌿 Cleared years of overgrowth and brambles 🪵 Collected reclaimed wood for our raised beds 🚜 Hauled home a trailer full of pots (and well-rotted horse manure!) 🪓 Broken at least one spade in the process ☔ And discovered a LOT more twigs and branches than expected! This is Part 1 of our Council House to Homestead series — a real-life look at building self-sufficiency in an ordinary British garden, with limited money, limited time, and a lot of determination. We’re proving that you don’t need acres of land or endless funds to start living the good life. You just need a bit of creativity, a few mistakes, and a good sense of humour.
