This was our *second^ stay here at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Times Square West
Would we stay again? No.
(Everything was ugg, and it seems like no one cares about the state of the rooms.)

Our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New York Times Square West was a major disappointment. The welcome experience set the tone immediately: there was no hello, just a blunt request for an ID in a lobby that felt dark and dingy. The initial room we were given was completely beat up, with holes and rips that made it clear management and maintenance have checked out.
Interestingly, after we complained, they moved us to a higher floor—likely the upgrade they originally claimed was unavailable. This second room was actually fine and met the brand standard for a DoubleTree. It seems any floors below level 24 are significantly more neglected, so beware of where they place you.
The amenities didn't fare much better. The charging ports and plugs were available but loose; plugs jiggle in the sockets and can easily fall out. While we didn't hear street noise, there was a frequent banging sound coming from within the walls. Additionally, the elevators are terribly slow. With only four elevators available and two of them used by the rooftop lounge, wait times on Friday and Saturday nights are awful. Even the bar experience was a letdown, opening over an hour late because the staff had had a rough night, making it difficult to use our Hilton Honors credits.
Would not stay again.
Between the beat up lower-floor rooms and the lack of basic hospitality, this hotel is a skip.
