A trio of Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) diesel locomotives will be in charge of an ARTC ballast train that is scheduled to spend a few weeks operating between Gheringhap and Ararat. The locomotives had stabled a rake of ballast hoppers at Inverleigh the previous day, and now head to Melbourne for routine maintenance before starting ballasting duties the next week.
