'Slice of hell': Fire rips through apartments in Lake Wylie

Firefighters were battling a fire along Lake Wylie Sunday afternoon. The fire broke out around 4:46 p.m. at the Yachtsman complex on Queens Harbor Road near Lake Wylie, where Charlotte firefighters battled flames for hours. “This is our little slice of heaven right here and, unfortunately, it became a little slice of hell for these folks last night,” resident Rick Diaz said.
