We cannot save him without you. When we first saw Dabbas, he was standing alone on the side of a busy road. One look was enough to know that something terrible had happened to him. His front leg hung loosely from his body, completely unsupported, swinging with every painful movement he tried to make. We do not know what caused such devastating injuries. Perhaps a car struck him, or perhaps he suffered abuse that no living creature should ever endure. As we approached him, another horrifying detail became clear. The injured leg was severely infected. The smell was overwhelming, a sign that the wound had been left untreated for days, maybe even weeks. We could not leave him there. Without hesitation, we rushed Dabbas to a private veterinary clinic, where the medical team immediately administered life-saving medications to stabilize him and begin treating the infection. After a full examination and X-rays, we received the news. Dabbas's leg was beyond repair. The damage was too extensive, and the infection had progressed too far. The only way to save his life and end his suffering was to perform an emergency amputation. Now Dabbas is fighting for a second chance. Dogs are incredibly resilient, and many three-legged dogs go on to live happy, active lives.
