Is SIARGAO PHILIPPINES still the World's #1 Island?! Cebu to Sayak Airport to General Luna Tour 2026 Come along as we travel from Cebu to the beautiful island of Siargao. We start at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport for our 1:30 PM flight. Since we are only carrying backpacks, we used the self-check-in kiosk to save time before heading to the domestic departures area. We flew with Cebu Pacific (Cebgo) on flight DG6853. The aircraft is an ATR 72-600, a small propeller plane that is perfect for island hopping in the Philippines. The flight takes about an hour, and because we are in the window seat, we get to enjoy the amazing views of the islands and the blue water. Arriving at Sayak Airport: Once we landed at Sayak Airport, we paid the 20 pesos environmental fee. To get to the main town of General Luna, we took a shared van. Transport Options from the Airport: - Shared Van: 300 pesos per person (drops you right at your hotel). - Private Van: 2,500 pesos for the whole van. - Tricycle: Around 800 pesos for a private ride (price can be negotiated). The drive to General Luna takes about one hour. We stayed at a beachfront resort right along Tourism Road. It is a very convenient location near all the nightlife, restaurants, and shops. Exploring the Island: Getting around is easy with local tricycles. A shared ride along the main road is usually only 30 pesos per person. Our first stop was the famous Cloud 9 surfing area, which has a 100 pesos entrance fee. It’s a great place to walk the boardwalk and watch the surfers.
