Description

It is time for a reminder why gill nets are outlawed across the globe. These nets are designed to be invisible, making them a lethal trap for any marine life in their path. We found this seal entangled in a mess of illegal netting that was already beginning to slice into its flesh. Gill nets are so incredibly mean because they don't just catch fish, they catch everything, leading to a slow and painful end for innocent animals. Even in countries with lower environmental standards, these nets are often banned because of the sheer devastation they cause. We should not find this type of net in Namibian waters at all! 🦭 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Please visit our website to find out more about our work and how to support us: ➡ Website: https://www.ocnamibia.org/ ➡ Donate via Paypal: https://ow.ly/BTm550PIavq ➡ Donate via Stripe: https://ow.ly/Xy1F50PIMzQ ➡ Support via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/OCN ➡ FAQs: https://www.ocnamibia.org/faqs Follow us on social media: ➡ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oceanconservationnamibia/ ➡ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OCNamibia ➡ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@oc_namibia ➡ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ocnamibia/ ➡ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ocnamibia 😊 Thank you for every like, share, comment and subscribe 😊 Ocean Conservation International is registered as a non-profit organisation under chapter 501(c)3.
