Caught on Camera: $2M Tech Heist Using Fake Identity

A bold, multi-million dollar heist right here in Florida… and it almost worked. Investigators say a suspect posed as a logistics worker—complete with a fake badge—to convince employees to hand over boxes filled with brand-new iPhones and iPads. In total, nearly $2 million worth of electronics was loaded into a U-Haul and driven away. But what the suspects didn’t realize? Some of those packages were hiding tracking devices. Using AirTags and license plate readers, deputies were able to track the stolen items straight to one of the suspects, who has now been arrested on grand theft charges.
