A BBC report into anti-abortion activism suggests more British young people are turning against abortion. While there is no single or obvious cause, the BBC has heard explanations that include opposition to the Crime and Policing Bill, which is currently working its way through Parliament. If passed into law it would decriminalise abortion at every stage of pregnancy in England and Wales, though doctors will still be bound by the existing 24-week limit. Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi, said the current situation was "unacceptable" and led to police prosecuting vulnerable women, while Alithea Williams from the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children said the "very limited protection afforded by the law is being stripped away".
