In Uganda’s Rwenzori region, communities in Ntoroko, Bundibugyo, and Kasese have been supported to better prepare for drought and climate shocks after severe flooding in early 2024.
Through FAO’s anticipatory action approach, with support from the Federal Government of Germany, early warning information is helping communities make timely decisions, while access to water and cash assistance is strengthening resilience. The initiative is helping families act early, protect their livelihoods, and reduce the impact of drought before it hits hardest.
