Small Space, Big Results: Personal Branding Shots! With Lindsay Adler

Shooting personal branding session in a smaller space may (at first) feel limiting, but the good news is that you don’t need a massive studio to produce high-end, polished results. In this video I demonstrate how to use compact modifiers, control light spill with grids, and use space-saving techniques (like specialty stands or bouncing light) to make the most out of your small studio! Key topics covered: Choosing smaller light modifiers that still provide soft, flattering light Using grids on main and rim lights to control spill and keep backgrounds clean Creating a large, soft fill light with small footprint by bouncing light into room corners Selecting compact light stands to keep gear out of your frame in tight spaces Backing up and zooming in to compress your subject and narrow your field of view 💡Lighting Main Light: A 3-foot Octabox with a grid positioned on the left side of the frame to keep light soft, directional, and controlled. Fill Light: A bare bulb strobe bounced into a corner of the room to create a large, soft fill light with a minimal physical footprint. Rim Light: A 1x4 foot strip softbox with a grid, mounted on a compact stand, used to add polished separation and depth without spilling light onto the background.
