Victorious Vaas 50th Over Conceded just 3 Runs to In-form Wasim Akram on 34(25) in Sharjah 2002

Sri Lankan left-arm Paceman Chaminda Vaas was at his best conceding only 3 runs in the 50th over to take Sri Lanka to a memorable win. Wasim Akram who scored 34 runs in his previous 25 balls was on strike having 13 required in the last over. Wasim could do nothing much against the accurate bowling of Chaminda Vaas. Sri Lanka registered an impressive 9-run victory thanks to brilliant death bowling of Vaas who kept hard-hitting and in-form Wasim Akram at bay.
