Description
At around 10:35am on 1 December, neighbours reported hearing a smash and saw three men wearing balaclavas enter a property in Oldham.
Two watches were stolen as well as an attempt to take the homeowner’s Hyundai, which was unsuccessful due to the car’s immobiliser.
Officers from GMP’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit (TVIU) quickly identified a vehicle linked to the burglary in West Yorkshire travelling towards Bradford.
When officers tried to stop the car, the suspects fled, leading to a pursuit reaching speeds of up to 105mph.
After a 10-minute pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned at a caravan site and a foot-chase ensued. Two men were detained, one found hiding inside a caravan.
The men, aged 36 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop. A third man remains wanted.
