Oath-taking Ceremony of Department of Justice (DOJ) Acting Secretary Fredderick Vida

November 17, 2025 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administers the oath of office to Department of Justice (DOJ) Acting Secretary Fredderick Vida in a ceremony on November 17, 2025. Acting Secretary Vida, who initially served as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Department, officially succeeds former DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla after his appointment as Ombudsman in October. He was first appointed as a DOJ Assistant Secretary in January 2023 and was eventually promoted to Undersecretary in October of the same year. Acting Secretary Vida earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of the Philippines (UP) and a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo School of Law, where he graduated as a Silver Medalist.
