Description

Hey everyone! Today I will be showing you how to make a ribbed knit beanie using my Made With Love The Cottony One™ Yarn. Let me know what you want me to teach you how to make next, and tag me in your photos of you making this beanie! 0:00 Intro 0:29 Supplies 1:16 Tension Gauge 1:40 How To Measure Tension 3:01 How To Cast On 4:10 How To Do A Slip Knot 4:46 Casting On 49sts 6:53 How To Connect The Round 7:30 Marking Start Of Your Round 8:19 How To Do A Knit Stitch 8:50 How To Do A Purl Stitch 11:11 How To Read Stitches 12:10 How To Count Rows 13:11 How To Start Decreases 26:49 How To Close Up Beanie 32:08 Outro Made With Love The Cottony™ One Yarn: https://www.lionbrand.com/products/made-with-love-the-cottony-one-yarn?srsltid=AfmBOopVfKp-laYRZvUaKfR4nrsbjSuHY8Ya26epgexTLn-DeJEVrh1O Abbreviations: 1x1 rib - *k1,p1* repeat ** K - knit P - Purl SS(K/P)PO - Slip two stitches from left needles to write needle, work next stitch in pattern and then pass the two slipped stitches over the worked stitch - this acts as a double decrease Instructions: Using two strands held together of MWL cottony one Circular needles 10mm (as short as possible for cable to work in round or if not use magic loop) Tension gauge - 10x10cm 14sts x 11 rows Cast on 49sts Making sure stitches aren’t twisted, slip first stitch to right needle, pass last cast on stitch over the slipped stitch, this will join the round. Mark the start of the round (48sts) Work a 1x1 Rib for 35 rows (k1,p1 around) if you want your had to be baggier on the top, you can work 5-10 more rows Now we will work the decreases (and if you ever get lost, read your stitches. When it comes to the SS(K/P)PO you slip the stitch before and the stitch that has the decreases on it. You can mark the 4 decrease points around the hat if easier for you.) *K1, p1, k1, p1, SSKPO, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (40sts) * K1, p1, k1, SSPPO, k1, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (32sts) *k1, p1, SSKPO, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (24sts) *K1, SSPPO, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (16sts) Cut the yarn with stitches still on needle, leaving a long tail. Now using a darning needle, thread the tail into the darning needle and then slip the stitches off your left needles onto the tail of the right needle stitch. Once all stitches are off, pull tight like a draw string and then secure it by stitching through the close at the top of the hat a few times, then tie a knot and thread through the top of the hat. Weave in the tail.
