Mark the start of the round (48sts) Work a 1x1 Rib for 35 rows (k1,p1 around) if you want your had to be baggier on the top, you can work 5-10 more rows Now we will work the decreases (and if you ever get lost, read your stitches. When it comes to the SS(K/P)PO you slip the stitch before and the stitch that has the decreases on it. You can mark the 4 decrease points around the hat if easier for you.) *K1, p1, k1, p1, SSKPO, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (40sts) * K1, p1, k1, SSPPO, k1, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (32sts) *k1, p1, SSKPO, p1, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (24sts) *K1, SSPPO, k1, p1* Repeat ** to end of round (16sts) Cut the yarn with stitches still on needle, leaving a long tail.
