Today we washed away more than dirt. We washed away shame. We washed away neglect. This little one was sitting in dirty clothes, barefoot, with no one to help. After a simple shower, clean clothes, and new shoes… look at that smile. Look at that confidence. But while one child smiled, many others were still waiting. Watching. Hoping. Standing barefoot. Our hearts are not okay leaving children behind.
