Description
► A British couple have been named as two victims of the wildfires in Spain, as authorities race to use DNA to identify those who did not manage to escape the blaze.
Pete and Fran Gillam, who lived in Bédar, are believed not to have survived when the village was engulfed by wildfires on Thursday.
Spanish authorities believe five of 13 people killed are British.
A British pensioner was also hospitalised and has become the 13th person to die, officials have said. The 93-year-old woman was among eight admitted to hospital following the blaze, four of them with serious injuries.
Authorities said the pensioner, who had pre-existing media conditions, had been admitted with burns to 20 percent of her body on Friday, and died Sunday.
Spain's forensic services data unit, the CID, said that two more people had been reported missing after it started working with authorities in Britain, France and Belgium to formally register their cases, bringing the total to 10.
The fire, which has now been contained, burned through about 7,000 hectares (17,300 acres) of land, authorities said.
It is one of the deadliest in Spanish history.
